To Pray is to Dance

It’s all too easy to look at prayer as a chore. But when you think about it, it’s actually an opportunity to participate in a dance. A dance where God leads and we follow.

I know it may seem frivolous, this talk of dancing when there is so much evil and suffering about; but that doesn’t change a fundamental truth–through it all, God is superintending everything that happens. Indeed, He even suffers along with us. Yet all the while, He has a plan that WILL come to fruition. And His plan is good. VERY good.

Yes, I’d say when we pray, we are participating in a dance, alright. I like the way author John Piper puts it: “God does all His gracious work in such a way ‘that no human being might boast in the presence of God’ (1Cor 1:29), which means He usually does it in answer to prayer.”

Dance up a storm, folks…and be encouraged.
