Argument 4: The historical evidence for the resurrection -including the empty tomb, eyewitness accounts, and the origin of the Christian faith -establish the divinity of Christ. (This is known as the Historical Argument for the existence of God)
A great way to share and defend the Good News using the historical evidence is the Four Es:
Jesus was killed; well attested by Biblical and extra-biblical accounts.
We have early accounts Jesus was raised from the dead. Perhaps the earliest creed Corinthians 15:3-5 was written 22 years after Jesus’ death. Paul’s early testimony—He met Jesus 2-3 years after Jesus’ death.
The enemies couldn’t produce the body, and so said it was stolen.
Jesus appeared alive to 515 people. Nine sources corroborate. The disciples were willing to die for what they witnessed.
